This week Janet Jackson twittered her first tweets, and launched her new website. It's so great to hear from Janet and read that she is getting into some new projects. I've missed how she keeps her fans on the edge of our seats when she is entering a new era. We've hurt with her, and we've missed her.

Just hours after Janet's first tweet on Monday, her 3,000 followers who had followed just in case it was official, exploded to over 18,000. It was so rapid growth that twittercounter couldn't graph it, and if you refreshed the page every second or so on Monday night, you would see the total going up by at least 20 each time for a while there. It was a pretty awesome thing to witness.

Now as of 10pm Thursday, she has over 33,000 followers and Janet's twitter followers are continuing to grow.

I'm not surprised and I'm excited and relieved to see her back at work and back in touch with her fans again. I wish her every success with her upcoming book and album (I can't wait for the new album!) and I look forward to seeing Why Did I Get Married Too.

One of the great things about Janet's new website, other than it containing ALL of her videos with some neat flash navigation, is a descriptive biography which includes some of the charities and causes Janet supports.
